Get your L1 / L2 / L3 with MDARS

Hundreds of flyers have gotten their Tripoli high-power certifications with MDARS.

Tips and information:

  • Read Tripoli’s guide (from start to finish) on the level you want to certify

  • Come prepared to tell us the CG, CP, simmed altitude for flight, and delay charge timing (or electronics you’ll be using to do deployment).

  • We have a few RMS reloads available if needed, and we have a loan library of motor cases—see here for details. Contact us ahead of time if you are looking for a specific motor to use for certification.

  • Reach out if you have any questions, and let us know you’re coming. We’re happy to help!

  • Our club has members that can certify all Tripoli levels.

  • For aspiring L3 fliers: we have several club members with L3s who can advise and observe certifications. Get in touch with us.

  • It is possible to do an L1 and L2 in the same day, but we prefer that fliers space them out. We find that fliers’ first high-powered launches often take longer than expected. We hope you’ll fly rockets often. No need to rush.

  • Some basics:

    • Folding table

    • Disposable gloves

    • Trash bag

    • Scissors or cutting tool

    • Tool box with needed items

    • It balloons outward from there!
